What stories could possibly come from a pocket watch, a flag, a sculpted shoulder, a brick, a portrait, and a napkin? Our colleagues from the Museum will be sharing information, not only about the items, but the people and stories behind them. You can expect mutiny, lies, Trumbulls, Putnams, and word has it, we might not have won the American Revolution without the tiny state of Connecticut. Buckle up as we preserve the past to inform the future in Small but Mighty: Connecticut’s Revolution, episode 1 of 6 launches May 27, 2026.

When we casually asked our division director if we could start a podcast to connect with the residents of Connecticut, we were a little surprised with a quick "yes." And now it's been eight months since we launched the first episode of our podcast.

Throughout this year, we've taken a deep dive into State Library resources, community partners, and famous people (and puppies) in Connecticut's vast history. We were able to introduce listeners to colleagues and friends and each other.

And now as we enter summer, we're taking a break. Well, not really. We'll be packing up the microphone and hitting the road to record season two of the Under the Charter Oak podcast, where we'll take you deeper into the world of your local public libraries.

But don't think you've gotten rid of us quite yet. Starting May 27th, tune in for the first episode of season 1.5, Small But Mighty, Connecticut's Revolution. We probably don't have to tell you that this is the year of America 250 and organizations all over the state are organizing talks, tours, and expos. We'll be offering...more podcast episodes.

Every Wednesday for the next six weeks, we, along with a few other guests, will be diving into six artifacts that will be on display at the Museum of Connecticut History's new exhibit, Connecticut's Revolution. If you think it's going to be boring, you couldn't be more wrong. Our colleagues from the museum will be sharing information not only about the items, but the people and stories behind them.
